Emerson College honours Deeyah Khan

Deeyah Khan will be awarded an honorary degree during Emerson College’s 138th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 13th 2018, where she will address hundreds of graduate students. The award is a reflection of her achievements as a documentary film-maker. Emerson College is internationally recognised as the premier institution concentrating upon communication and the arts in America.

The ceremony will take place at Boston University’s Agganis Arena. Fellow 2018 honourees include former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins, bestselling author and screenwriter Tom Perrotta and Ellie Cypher, Associate Justice to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Previous recipients of honorary degrees from Emerson College include former Tonight Show host Jay Leno, Pulitzer Prize-winning author David McCullough, and Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC's Good Morning America.
